Encountering the “Exceeded the maximum number of channels.” error when adding cameras in Recording Server.
1. Verify that the USB license dongle drivers are installed and that the dongles are plugged into the PC.
2. Verify that the USB license dongle is recognized in the GVUsbKeyUpClient utility located in the Recording Server installation folder.
3. Verify the number of authorized camera channels in the Recording Server software by launching the software web interface > “Install Camera” > “Information”.
4. If the error is encountered even when the total number of added camera channels does not exceed the total number of authorized camera channels; the Recording Server camera list settings file may be damaged as a result of an incomplete camera list import or from importing a corrupted camera list file.
