Summary
Due to the contrasting standards of vehicle license plates in the U.S, LPR, or license plate-recognition-based access management, may pose certain limitations when used from state to state. Henceforth, GeoVision has laid out a list of recognition results of all of U.S.’ 51 states for users to refer to and distinguish between recognizable and less recognizable license plates.
Recognition Accuracy
The recognition results of U.S. license plates using LPR are marked as Good, Normal and Poor, as outlined below:
- Good (>90%): Recognition results exhibit an accuracy of greater than 90%.
- Normal (50~70%): Recognition results exhibit an accuracy of between 50 to 70%.
- Poor (<50%): Recognition results exhibit an accuracy of less than 50%.
