Issue:
Can't add more than 2 Arecont 4 Lenscameras ( 8185DN & 8365DN) to VMS v15.11.1 with 3rd party dongle (8ch)

Solution:
It is because the models (8185DN x 2& 8365DN x 3) that the customer is trying to add are not officially supported by GV-VMS.
http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/pro ... recont.asp

If it is a supported 3rd camera, like you said, it will take only 1 port of the 3rd party dongle even thought it is a 4 camera lens camera.
However, if it is not a supported camera, then it will take 4 port of the 3rd party dongle.
So that's why you got the error message saying "The max licensed channel is 8” (8185DN with 4 cameras lens x 2 = 8)

However, you an use other Arecont model to add unsupported cameras, it will take you 1 port, instead of 4 in this case.
If you try to add AV_8185 (Camera 1 ~ Camera 4) x 2, it will take 8 port of the 3rd party dongle. However, if you add Camera 1 first for each Arecont camera x 5 into VMS -> Wait till they are all connected to VMS successfully -> Activate the connection for Camera 2 ~ 4 for each Arecont camera => It will take 5 port of the 3rd party dongle.
