Question:
When IE browser or ERM v1.2 connect to VD3700, why displayed "CPU can not support H.265" message ?
Answer:
In order to support H.265 decode function, CPU must be desktop class Sandy Bridge or later. Earlier CPU is not supported for H.265 decode function. Customer ERM is running Wolfdale (Core2 Duo E8400) which is eralier than desktop Sandy Bridge so we are sorry to say H.265 is not supported on these CPUs. Customer originally mentioned they have Core2 Quad Q9500 which was Yorkfield, released earlier than desktop Sandy Bridge. Please note that desktop class Sandy Bridge CPU is minimum requirement, it does not guarantee H.265 performance.
On the other hand, if you would like to use GPU decoding with H.265 codec, you will need skylake or later
