Why are there two recorded clips when there is a single motion event in Multicam v8.62?
Answer:
Based on pre-record rule of Multicam, when motion happens there will always be 2 clips recorded. One clip is Pre-rec and the other would be (motion + Post-rec). Therefore in this case, customer's video clips per motion event should be a 2 min Pre-rec clip and another clip with duration of the motion + Post rec.
The reason why customer's second clip has (Pre-rec + motion + Post-rec) is because Multicam is constantly doing Pre-recording from the moment it starts monitoring. So let's say Multicam starts monitoring at 1PM it will keep generating a Pre-rec clip every 2 mins. If a motion starts at 1:02:30PM, Multicam will save the 2min clip of Pre-rec it has archived (1PM ~ 1:02PM) and then the second clip will start recording from 1:02:01PM to end of motion + Post rec time. This is because Multicam cannot throw away the part of the clip before motion happens, other wise the two clips will always have a gap between them.
