Question:
Why a choppy consistent video shows in VMS v14.101 viewlog?
1. In the following example, the user uses "General Event" for Round the Clock recording. This is why VMS records "Key frame" only.
2. A total of 24 IP cams are connected to VMS.
FPS = 10, GOP = 3 for Cam1 ~ Cam 21. This means that there will be 1 key frame among every 3 frames.
3. The recorded file below only contains “Key frame”, which is correct.
4. For VMS, if there is nothing recorded in 1 second, it will show blank in timeline bar and this is the reason why we got consistent choppy recording data in this case.
a) Cam1-Cam21 (FPS=10 GOP=3):
Based on the schedule and cameras settings, every single file contains 40 key frames (1 per 3 seconds).
Therefore, the timeline bar shows consistent choppy recording data if there is nothing recorded in 1 second. (Which is normal in this case)
b) Cam21-24 (FPS=10 GOP=1):
Every single file contains 120 key frames (1 per second).
Therefore, the timeline bar shows consistent log without choppy display.
