Q: Why my ASManager showing can't open database after Windows starts up when using SQL on the same PC?

A:
Since ASManager and SQL are installed on the same PC, and “Run at startup” is enabled for ASManager, ASManager may start faster than SQL after the PC is rebooted. As a result, ASManager may display “Can’t open database” because the SQL database is not yet available.

The following steps can be used to prevent or resolve this issue:

1. After SQL Server is installed, the Startup Type of the SQL Server service in Windows Services is set to Automatic (Delayed Start) by default. Change it to Automatic.

2. Enable “Run ASManagerService as Windows Service”, then change the Startup Type of ASManagerService in Windows Services from the default Automatic to Automatic (Delayed Start).
