Summary
You can upgrade your GV-NVR software directly to GeoVision’s latest video management software GV-VMS. GV-VMS supports the following configuration settings from GV-NVR:

• User Account
• Camera List
• Camera Name
• Recorded Video Events

Note: GV-VMS doesn’t support the upgrade directly from GV-DVR and GV-Hybrid DVR.

How to upgrade

1. Uninstall the GV-NVR.

1. Close any open programs because your computer will restart during the uninstalling process.
2. Click Windows Start button, select Control Panel, and select Uninstall a Program under Programs.
3. In the list of currently installed programs, select GeoVision Digital Surveillance System, and click Uninstall/Change.

4. When you are prompted to confirm removal of the program, click Yes.

2. Download and install GV-VMS from GeoVision download page.

3. Convert database from GV-NVR to GV-VMS.

1. When prompted during GV-VMS installation, select Yes to convert the database..

2. In this dialog box, enter GV-NVR admin’s ID and Password.

3. In this dialog box, select the camera database you wish to convert to GV-VMS.

4. When asked to confirm the database conversion, click Yes to proceed.

5. When the database conversion is complete, this message appears, and GV-VMS automatically restarts after 10 seconds.
