[Technical Notice] System Failure at GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal Startup

Symptom
There is a possibility that GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal may not respond during startup.

Solution
When the device fails to respond, prepare a FAT32 USB flash drive and follow the instructions below.
  1. Download the recovery files: https://dlcdn.geovision.com.tw/other/Re ... ptimal.zip.
  2. Unzip the files. There are two folders and one txt file.

  3. Move the 2 folders and the txt file in the USB flash drive.
  4. Open MACList.txt and type the MAC address of the GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal you wish to restore. For example, 00:13:E2:DF:00:00. Make sure only one MAC address is entered at a time.
  5. Save the edited MACList.txt file as a UTF-8 file.

  6. Insert the USB flash drive into your GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal.
  7. Power off and on GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal to restart the device.
  8. The following window appears after the device successfully restarts. Check if the information next to Current MAC address matches the MAC address entered at Step 4 and click Yes, this is my device.
    Note: Make sure the MAC address is correct or else it might invalidate your warranty rights to this device.

  9. After the update is completed, remove the USB flash drive and power off and power on the device.

Note:
  1. This method is only applicable to one GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal at a time.
  2. After the update is completed, the MACList.txt file will be automatically removed. To conduct the method on another GV-IP Decoder Box Optimal, create a new MACList.txt file by following Step 4 ~ 5.
