Question:
1. My software license is a 32-channel third party camera license. How many channels (cameras) am I allowed to replace?
2. I have a 16-channel third party camera license and I want to purchase 2 additional channels for my third party cameras. Will I get an additional replacement quota?
3. I have purchased an 14-channel third party license, will I get a replacement quota if I purchase 2 additional channels for my license?
4. I will replace my third party cameras frequently in the future, what should I do if I run out of quotas?
Answer:
1. GeoVision provides 1 channel (camera) replacement quota for every 16 channels purchased. This means that if you purchase a 16-channel license, you are allowed to replace 1 channel (camera) once. If the number of channels purchased is under 16, then you won't get any replacement quota. With that being said, your 32-channel license will allow you to replace 2 channels (cameras). You can either replace 1 channel for 2 times, or replace 2 channels once, the quota you get for replacement is 2.
2. No, unless you purchase another 16 channels, otherwise you won't get any additional quotas for replacement.
3. Yes, after merging the license, you will have a 16-channel license, which means you will get 1 replacement quota.
4. If you need to replace your third party cameras frequently, using a physical dongle would be a better option.
IMPORTANT NOTE: 1 replacement quota = Replcacing 1 channel / camera for one time.
