Symptom
Due to certain system mechanisms, GV-SNVR0411 / 0811 before V2.67 and GV-SNVR1611 before V3.06 were automated to recycle, thus unable to record any videos beyond 49 days.
Solution
To resolve the above-mentioned symptom, follow the steps below to upgrade the system firmware and format the HDD(s).
IMPORTANT: Any data saved on the HDD(s) will be lost after formatting. Make sure to back up as needed prior to formatting.
To Upgrade the System Firmware:
- Visit the GeoVision website for each respective model and download the latest firmware file to a PC under the same LAN as your GV-SNVR.

GV-SNVR1611 V3.06 Firmware

- Double-click the GV-SNVR in the list and select Configure.
- Click the Firmware Upgrade tab and click Browse to select the latest firmware file (.img) downloaded from the GeoVision website.
- To upgrade all the GV-SNVR in the list, of the same model with an identical username and password, in the list, select Upgrade all devices.
- Type your username and password or, if in default setting, type admin for username and password, and click Upgrade to start the upgrade.
To Format the Hard Disk Drive:
- On the GV-SNVR, click Format on the Storage page ( Setting > Storage )
- Click Execute to format the hard drive.
