[Technical Notice] Unable to Install Codec on GV-ASManager / ASRemote

Symptom
An error occurs when downloading and installing video codec or repeated notifications prompting users to download new video codec on GV-ASManager and/or GV-ASRemote V5.1.1 or later.

Solution
To resolve the abovementioned symptom, refer to the steps below depending on the software used, GV-ASManager or GV-ASRemote.

For GV-ASManager
  1. Close your GV-ASManager.
  2. Open the GV-ASManager directory (default:\Access Control\ASManager) and execute ASMiniService.exe to make sure all GV-ASManager services have been closed.
  3. Download VLCodecLoadLib.zip from here and unzip the file.
  4. Copy and paste the unzipped VLCodecLoadLib folder into the GV-ASManager to replace the original folder.

  5. Restart your GV-ASManager.
For GV-ASRemote
  1. Close your GV-ASRemote.
  2. Download VLCodecLoadLib.zip from here and unzip the file.
  3. Copy aand paste the unzipped VLCodecLoadLib folder into the GV-ASRemote directory (default:\\Access Control\ASRemote) to replace the original folder.

  4. Restart your GV-ASRemote.
