[Technical Notice] Required Procedures for Upgrading GV-CS1320

Summary
In bettering the performance of GV-CS1320, its operation mechanism has been restructured significantly starting from firmware V3.0. Thus, users must follow the required procedures of upgrading with firmware V2.22 and the latest default firmware, successively, when upgrading GV-CS1320 from V2.20 or earlier.

However, firmware upgrade from V3.00 to V3.01 or later requires no additional procedure or intermediate firmware.

WARNING: Upgrading of GV-CS1320 to V3.01 or later without following the necessary procedures outlined may result in faulty configurations and/or irreversible damages to the device.

Procedures
To upgrade GV-CS1320 from V3.00 to V3.01 or later:
  1. Download the latest firmware from our website.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file and access the folder using the Web interface or IP Device Utility.
  3. Select Upgrading-from-V3.XX_to_V3.XX and select the .IMG file to install the latest firmware into the controller.

To upgrade GV-CS1320 from V2.20 or earlier to V3.01 or later:

  1. Download the latest firmware from our website.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file and access the folder using the Web interface or IP Device Utility.
  3. To upgrade to intermediate firmware V2.22, select Upgrading-from-V1.XX-&-V2.XX_to_V3.XX > Step 1_Upgrading-to-Intermediate_FW-V2.22 > .IMG file.
  4. Noting down important settings that you have configured, such as Input Setting, Extended Device, Card Setting, which will be reset to default upon the next required step of upgrading with a default firmware.

    Note: Only the following settings of GV-CS1320 will be kept when upgrading with a default firmware: IP Address, Username, Password, Device ID, Device Port and 3Des Code.
  5. To upgrade to default firmware V3.01 or later, select Upgrading-from-V1.XX-&-V2.XX_to_V3.XX > Step2_Upgrading-from-V2.22-to_Default_FW-V3.XX > .IMG file.
  6. Once upgraded, users must resynchronize GV-CS1320 with GV-ASManager and reconfigure all important settings noted in step 4.

Effects of the Default Firmware
The following chart outlines some of the important settings that may be lost and must be reconfigured manually when GV-CS1320 is updated with a default firmware.
