Applied to
GV-Control Center

Summary
There are three possible ways to synchronize configuration data among GV-Control Centers. You can export and import a backup copy of configuration data from one Control Center to another. Alternatively, you can facilitate configuration data synchronization through the Authentication Server, or the Authentication Center to multiple Control Centers. Since each option has different advantages, users can choose the best way to suit their real applications.

Exporting and Importing the Configuration Data
You can export configuration data from one GV-Control Center, and import the backup copy to another GV-Control Center.

Pros: Settings in Host List, Group List, Live Setting, Virtual PTZ Setting, Geo-Keyboard, E-Map and Video Wall are included for backup by default. You do not need to reset any settings in another Control Center, even E-Map and Video Wall layouts.

Note: The configuration data will not be automatically synchronized on every Control Center. You must manually import the exported backup file to every Control Center where it is necessary.
  1. To export configuration data, select System and select Export Data on the GV-Control Center’s main window.

Through the Authentication Server
The Authentication Server provides centralized account and password management for DVR/NVR/VMS hosts to the connected GV-Control Center. Through the Authentication Server, users across multiple GV-Control Centers can access to specific DVD/NVR/VMS hosts.

Pros: Each Control Center is able to update DVR/NVR/VMS hosts on the Host List synchronously through the Authentication Server.

Note: You must reset the settings of other hosts (except DVR/NVR/VMS) on the Host List, the I/O Box List, Group List (including VMD, I/O Panel and E-Map), even E-Map and Video Wall layouts in every Control Center.
  1. On the Authentication Server, click the Add A Client button to create a Control Center client.

Through the Authentication Center
Authentication Center is an account and access rights management system that provides centralized control over multiple GV-Control Centers.

Pros: The Authentication Center gives the Control Center the Host and Group List settings. You do not need to re-add hosts to the Group List on every Control Center.

Note: The Remote DVR, Remote Desktop and the Host List functions become non-configurable. You must manually reset E-Map and Video Wall layouts in every Control Center.
  1. To set up the Authentication Center, click System and select Account Setup on the Authentication Center’s main window.
  2. Click the button shown below to add accounts and configure the access rights using the General, and Application and Video Wall tabs.
