Introduction
To get smoother and better live images on GV-Eye, it is recommended to have the following Stream 2 (live view) settings on the GV-IP devices.
If the GV-IP device is also connected to the GV-DVR / NVR, the stream settings set on the GV-DVR / NVR will override those set on the Web interface of the device. Therefore, you need to make the above settings on the GV-DVR / NVR instead.
Instructions
1. Change Stream 2 settings on the Web interface of the GV-IP device
- Log in the Web interface of the GV-IP device.
- Select Streaming 2 from the left menu.
- Select MJPEG from the Video Format drop-down list, and set Resolution to 640 x 480, 640 x 512 or 640 x 360.
2. Change Stream 2 settings on the GV-DVR / NVR
If the GV-IP device is connecting to GV-DVR / NVR, you need to change the stream 2 (live view) settings on the GV-DVR / NVR instead of the GV-IP device.
- On the GV-DVR / NVR, click the Configure button, select System Configure, select Camera Install and select IP Camera Install. The IP Device Setup dialog box appears.
- Select the desired IP device in the list, right-click the device to display a menu, and select Change Resolution.
- Select an aspect ratio, and select 640 x 480, 640 x 360 or 640 x 512 in the Preview drop-down list.
- Select the desired IP device in the list, right-click to display a menu, select Change live view codec and select JPEG.
- The changes you made on the resolution and codec are reflected on the IP Device Setup dialog box.
3. Switch to Stream 2 on GV-Eye mobile application
After you are connected to the GV-IP device using GV-Eye V1.0 for Android, you need to click the button to switch to Stream 2 for a better and smoother live viewing. Note: Currently, GV-Eye HD V1.1.2 for iPad and GV-Eye V1.1.2 for iPhone and iPod Touch do not support the Stream 2 function.
