Summary
Before upgrading GV-ASManager V2.3 to newer versions, you need to back up the database first if you are using MDB database, and then restore the database to the upgraded version.

To Back Up Database
Follow the steps below to back up the database before upgrading GV-ASManager V2.3 to newer versions.
  1. Close ASManager and go to :\Access Control\ASManager, then double click ASMiniService.exe to close all the service.(A black window may pop-up and disappear in a sudden.)
  2. Go to :\Access Control\ASManager\ASRes\ and there should be four files.

  3. Back up the four files in the folder
  4. Back up user profile photos folder, which is under C:\Access Control\ASManager\Photo
  5. Uninstall GV-ASManager V2.3. After uninstalling, only two files remain in the ASRes folder.

  6. Install GV-ASManager V3.0 or later versions.
  7. Copy and paste the four files you backed up back to :\Access Control\ASManager\ASRes.
  8. Copy and paste the user profile photos folder you backed up back to :\Access Control\ASManager\Photo.
  9. Run ASDBManager.exe from the program folder at :\Access Control\ASManager.
  10. Select ASManager Database Setting.

  11. Select Upgrade to latest database version.

  12. The GV-ASManager starts upgrading the database. When the upgrade is complete and the message “Upgrade database successfully” appears, click OK.
