[Technical Notice] Accessing GV-IP Cameras from Synology Surveillance Software

Summary
This document covers the basic instruction on adding GV-IP Cameras to Synology surveillance system using ONVIF protocols.
Instruction
- Run the Synology Assistant and the window below appears. To search the servers installed with Synology DiskStation Manager, click Search. Under the server list, double-click the desired server.
- Type your account name and password to access the desired server. Here DiskStation is used as an example.
- Click the Menu button on the top-left corner of the window.
- To connect the server, click the Surveillance Station icon.
- To add a GV-IP Camera, click the Camera List from the left menu, click the Add button and select the Add Camera option from the Management section.
- To set up the camera swiftly, click Quick Setup. To set up the camera for complete configuration, click Complete Setup.
For Quick Setup- Type the name and the IP address of the GV-IP Camera.
- Select ONVIF from the Brand drop-down list. The Camera Model field will detect the device automatically. Type the Username and the Password of the GV-IP Camera. (The default value is admin.)
- Click the Test Connection button to check if you can see the live view from the right window. When you can see the live view, click the Finish button to back to the Management section.
- On the Camera List, you shall see the camera information you just added.
For Complete Setup- Type the name and the IP address of the GV-IP Camera.
- Select ONVIF from the Brand drop-down list. The Camera Model field will detect the device automatically. Type the Username and the Password of the GV-IP Camera. (The default value is admin.)
- Click the Test Connection button to check if you can see the live view from the right window. When you can see the live view, click the Next button to proceed further configuration.
- In this page, you can configure the Video settings. Click Next to proceed further configuration.
- In this page, you can configure the Recording settings. Click Next to proceed further configuration.
- In this page, you can configure the Recording Schedule settings. Click Next to proceed further configuration.
- In this page, you can configure the advanced settings. Click Finish to complete the configuration.
- On the Camera List, you shall see the camera information you just added. Note: Synology DiskStation Manager does not support audio function.
