Released Date: 5/08/2008
Applied to
GV-Video Server
GV-IP Camera
GV-Compact DVR
Symptom
When you connect to the Web Interface of GV IP device by using Internet Explorer browser, you may find that the Login page does not appear as expected. An error message similar to the following appears in your Web browser:
The page cannot be displayed
Solution
To determine the connection problem:
- Check whether the Ready LED (Status LED) is on. If not, reset the GV IP device to default settings.
If the Ready LED (Status LED) remains off after you reset the GV IP device, please contact our sales representative for help.
If the Ready LED (Status LED) functions normally, see the next step to check if there is an IP address conflict.
- Check whether IP address conflict occurs by following these steps:
- Run Windows Command Prompt. Take Classic Windows Start Menu for example, click Start, select Accessories and click Command Prompt.
- Type “arp –a”, and press Enter.
- Check if the Physical Address (MAC Address) matches the Internet Address assigned to the GV IP device. If not, it means another device is using the same IP address.
- To resolve the conflict, assign an unused IP address to the GV IP device.
You can use either of two methods to find the MAC address of your GV-IP device:
- Find the MAC Address sticker located at the bottom of GV-Video Server and GV-Compact DVR, except GV-IP Camera at the top.
- Download and run the GV-IP Device Utility from the company website, and find the MAC address of your GV-IP Device under the MAC Address column.
