[Technical Notice] Accessing GV-IP Cameras from Third-party Surveillance Software

Summary
Using PSIA protocols, third-party surveillance software can connect to GV-IP Cameras to access live view. This document covers the basic instructions on adding GV-IP Cameras to the following third-party surveillance software:
- Axxon Smart 2.1.6
- Milestone XProtect Enterprise 8.0C
- QNap VioStor V3.5.2
- Synology Disk Station Manager 3.2
1. Accessing GV-IP Cameras from Axxon Smart
To allow Axxon Smart to access GV-IP Cameras through PSIA, you must first change the RTSP port to 554 on the Web interface of the GV-IP Camera before adding the camera to Axxon Smart.
- Start the Internet Explorer browser, and type the IP address of the GV-IP Camera.
- Type the login name and password, and click Apply to log in.
- In the left menu, select RTSP under Events and Alerts and change the RTSP / TCP port to 554. Click Apply.
- Run the Axxon Smart program and type the Username and Password to log in.
- Click the Settings button in the upper-right corner.
- Under the list of devices, right-click the host computer and select Add IP device.
- Under New camera, type the IP Address and device Name of the GV-IP Camera.
- Under Device type, select PSIA in the Produced by drop-down list and click the Apply button.
- Under Authentication, type the Login name and Password of the camera.
- Click Apply and the live view will be displayed.
2. Accessing GV-IP Cameras from Milestone XProtect
Follow the steps below to add GV-IP Camera to Milestone XProtect Management Application.
- Start the Milestone XProtect Management Application and select Add Hardware Devices.
- Under Hardware device detection method, select Manual and click Next.
- Type the IP Address, User Name and Password of the GV-IP Cameras.
- Use one of the methods below to add the GV-IP Camera:
- Use the Hardware Driver drop-down list to select Auto-detect hardware type and click Auto-detect.
- Use the Hardware Driver drop-down list to select PSIA Conformant Device and click Next.
- In the left menu, click Advanced Configuration, Hardware Devices, Hardware Device 1 and select the GV-IP Camera you just added. The live view of the camera will be displayed.
3. Accessing GV-IP Cameras from QNap VioStor
Follow the steps below to add GV-IP Camera to QNap VioStor.
- Start the Internet Explorer browser, and type the IP address of the QNap VioStor.
- Type the login name and password of the QNap VioStor to log in.
- Right-click a channel and select Camera Settings.
- In the Camera Configuration page, select a Camera Number.
- Under Camera Brand, select PSIA.
- Under Camera Model, select PSIA Cameras.
- Type the IP Address of the GV-IP Camera.
- Type the User Name and Password of the GV-IP Camera.
- Click Apply and click the Monitor button in the top-right corner to access the live view.
Follow the steps below to add GV-IP Camera to Synology Surveillance Station.
- Start the Internet Explorer browser, and type the IP address of the Synology Surveillance Station.
- Type the ID and password to log in.
- Click the Surveillance Station icon. This window appears.
- Click the Add button, select Quick Setup and click Next. This dialog box appears.
- Type a camera Name and the IP address of the GV-IP Camera.
- Under the Brand drop-down list, select PSIA.
- Type the Username and Password of the GV-IP Camera.
- Click Finish. The GV-IP Camera is now listed.
- Click the Live View tab to access the live view of the GV-IP Camera.
