GV Video Capture Cards GV-2004, GV-2008, GV-1120, GV-1240 and GV-1480
Symptom
After you updated the GV-DVR / NVR to V8.3, the following error message of a counterfeit video capture card might appear when the two conditions were met together:
- You have changed GV video capture card between GV-2004/GV-2008 Card and GV-1120/GV-1240/GV-1480 Card in the same PCI or PCI-E slot.
- You didn’t re-install the driver for the replaced GV video capture card.
Cause
The error message occurred because of an incompatible driver for the GV video capture card. In GV-DVR / NVR version 8.3, there are different driver files for GV video capture cards as listed below:
Solution
To solve the problem, you have to remove the old driver and then install the new driver:
- Insert the Software DVD in the computer.
- Select Install or Remove GeoVision GV-Series Driver, and click Install or Remove GeoVision GV-Series Card Drivers.
- In the GeoVision Driver Installer dialog box, select Remove to remove the old driver.
- After the old driver is removed, select Install to install the new driver.
To verify the driver is installed correctly, follow these steps:
- Go the Device Manager.
- Expand the DVR-Devices field, you can see the related driver entry as listed below:
- To view the driver file details, right-click Driver Entry, select Properties, click the Driver tab and then click the Driver Details button. The following dialog box appears and provides you the details of the driver.
