Released Date: 11/26/2012
Applied to
GV-Joystick (barcode 000012153701 and after)
Problem
When using GV-Joystick of barcode 000012153701 and after to control cameras on GV-System, the users may find movement on the live view although the GV-Joystick has not been operated. This phenomenon is due to mixed-up value settings in the GV-Joystick.
Solution
GeoVision has resolved this issue with the latest firmware. Follow the steps below to download and upgrade the firmware to your GV-Joystick.
- download the latest firmware file:
- Unzip the downloaded file and open the folder. You shall see two files.
- Unplug the GV-Joystick’s USB cable, press and hold the Focus In and Focus Out button, and re-plug the USB cable. Release the buttons when the Power LED turns red.
- Execute the UPLOADAP_V1007_2011 0630 file from the folder. The Controller Firmware Update AP V1.0.0.7 window appears. This is a tool used for firmware upgrade.
- Use the drop-down menu to select the COM PORT where the GV-Joystick is installed. To look up the COM Port, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop and select Manage. This window appears. Select Device Manager from the left menu to look up the port information.
- Click Browse to add the firmware file from the downloaded folder.
- Click Update. When the upgrade is completed, the Power LED turns green and you will be prompted by a message.
- Calibrate the GV-Joystick by pressing and holding the 4 buttons on the GV-Joystick for 3 seconds. The Power LED blinks red during the process. The Power LED turns green to indicate that the settings are calibrated.
