[Technical Notice] Valid Skype Version for GV-Skype Video Utility Application

Summary
The Skype Video Utility is a program which transfers live view and/or text messages (upon motion and trigger events) through a Skype account to another to serve as a notification for events. In this application, the Skype software needs to be installed at the users’ end (a PC or a mobile device) and at another PC where GV-DVR / NVR and GV-Skype Video Utility are also installed.
Problem
The Skype is a third-party software and GeoVision has no control over its development and maintenance. Therefore, not all the versions of Skype are compatible with GV-Skype Video Utility. For some Skype versions, live videos may not be delivered upon events and you will see this message “Skype couldn’t find a webcam.”
Solution
GeoVision has tested Skype version 4.2.0.187, version 5.0.0.156 and version 5.10.0.116. We advise you to install the latest tested version 5.10.0.116:

Now, you shall be able to receive live view on PC or mobile devices through Skype when motion and trigger events occur:
