Applied to
GV-NVR System Version 8.34
Sanyo VCC-HD2100
Sanyo VCC-HD2300
Sanyo VDC-HD3100
Sanyo VDC-HD3300

Problem
A customer reported that after adding the Sanyo cameras listed above to GV-NVR System V8.34 by selecting RTSP over TCP as the protocol, the cameras became disconnected from time to time and then resumed connection after a short time.

The disconnection status was recorded in the System Log as illustrated below.

Problem Verification
Using the three methods listed below, we verified that the connection problem was occurring on the cameras’ end as the cameras were disconnected frequently without the involvement of GV-NVR.
  • We tried to ping the IP addresses of the customer’s Sanyo IP cameras. The same connection problem occurred from time to time.

  • We tried to log into the Web page of the customer’s Sanyo IP cameras. When a second user connected to the camera’s Web interface, the first camera Web interface became disconnected. It was not allowed two users to log into the camera simultaneously.
  • We used VLC media player (a third-party RTSP streaming player) to access the customer’s Sanyo IP cameras. The cameras’ live streaming was also disconnected from time to time.

Conclusion
After above careful verification, we concluded that the cause of the connection problem lies in the Sanyo cameras since the cameras disconnect regularly even when GV-NVR is not launched.

Result
The customer has contacted Sanyo to report the issue
