Solution
Normally old graphics card driver or the driver’s incompatibility with DirectDraw function can cause the problem. Try the following methods in the order to troubleshoot the display problem.

Method 1: Upgrade your graphics card driver
Go to the graphics card manufacturer’s website, download and install the latest driver version. To check if the driver is up-to-date, you can see the Driver Date from Windows Device Manager. Take Windows XP for example: click Start, select Control Panel and choose Device Manager from the list.

Method 2: Disable DirectDraw Acceleration
Take Windows XP as example: Click Start, select Run and type dxdiag. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool dialog box, click the Display tab and disable DirectDraw Acceleration.

Please note that video quality may be degraded after you disable the DirectDraw.

Method 3: Use a newer graphics card
If the display problem persists after upgrading the driver and disabling the DirectDraw, you will need to replace your current graphics card with a newer one.
