[ Hotswap ] HDD failure due to resonance, Recommended label of WD / Seagate series HDD - 20191021

Issue:
Hard drive used in Hot Swap fails frequently.

Root Cause:
Too many hard drive will be installed in a Hot Swap, when they read/write at the same time, the resonance will be enhanced and result in HDD failure. Therefore, vibration protection is needed for HDD when it is used in Hot Swap.

Solution:
Due to the following reasons, WD Gold / Ultra Star / Seagate Exos hard drive is recommended to be used in Hot Swap system.

- 7200RPM, 128 / 256 MB cache
- Built for yearly operation (24x7x365) within the most demanding storage environments
- WD and Seagate has different HDD limit when installing in a system. For more information, please see chart below.
