Yes, VMS can connect the Hikvision SNVR via RTSP protocol.
Hikvision
FAE had tested GV-VMS/RS with HikVision SNVR via RTSP. It works. RTSP URL is as indicated as below
Hikvision RTSP URL: rtsp://<address>:<port>/Streaming/Channels/<id>/
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/102/ ----> CH1, Sub Stream
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/401/ ----> CH4, Main Stream
For example,
If VMS wants the sub stream:
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/102/ Request CH1, Sub Stream
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/202/ Request CH2, Sub Stream
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/302/ Request CH3, Sub Stream
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/402/ Request CH4, Sub Stream
If VMS wants the main stream:
rtsp://192.168.1.100:554/Streaming/Channels/101/ Request CH1, Main Stream

Dahua
Dahua is able to see the live view via RTSP command in VMS or RS. RTSP URL is as indicated as below
e.g. rtsp://admin:admin@10.7.6.67:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1.
*. (admin) - a valid user’s username.
*. (admin) - user’s password. (Cannot contain #)
*. (10.7.6.67:554) - the IP address of the IP Camera or IPC, the default port is 554. It can be omitted.
*. (channel=1) - the channel number. It starts from 1.
*. (subtype=1) - the stream type. The of main stream is 0, extra stream 1 is 1, extra stream 2 is 2.
