Issue:
1. Live view is stuttering on VMS v15.101 with 8 x 4K monitors. 1 Monitor is used for VMS with 1024x768 resolution. This one is connected to the onboard Intel card. There is no live view activated. It is used for controlling and viewing the recordings. But it doesn't make a difference if you see the 27 cameras or not on this monitor the stuttering on the other 8 monitors remains the same.
2. The additional layouts cannot be visible when minimizing the main window. But the customer think even if you minimize the main Software, the additional layouts should be visible. Because there are so many times that someone has to minimize the main window foor doing something on the windows desktop.
3. If you shut off the service monitor, one Layout vanishes and another one can be found on another monitor. Then you have to deactivate the layouts and activate them again. Then it works.
Root Cause:
1. As our test, if we connect to the 3rd 4K monitor, it turned out GV-VMS is able to decode enough FPS, but LiveView cannot be running because of the heavy loading. R&D said it’s not related to decode performance, the main reason is the limitation of “Draw” function as our spec. (1 X 4K Monitor = 4 X Full-HD Monitors)
2. This is the GV-VMS structure in our SPEC, we can only modify the setting in the later versions.
3. This issue varies by different models of monitors, so will be defined as the SPEC. Because the customer’s monitor cuts the signal while powering off, and cannot be seen in Windows, the setting is changed after resuming. i.e. The 4th monitor will be changed to 7th after resuming.
Solution:
1. The Live View is running smoothly while GV-VMS is set to 32CHs – 2MP@30fps as RD’s test. So we 3 advices for the customer as below.
(a) Connect 2 X 4K monitors + 6 X Full HD Monitors the maximum.
(b) Change 8 X 4K monitors to Full HD resolution.
(c) If the customer would like to keep 8 X 4K monitors, please try to reduce IP Cam FPS to 5 or 10.
2. Suggest the customer move the Main Panel to the other monitor as a LiveView to avoid the problem.
3. Suggest the customer to turn on the Power Saving Mode, so that the monitor will become dark automatically after the setting time, not to power off the monitor by manual.
