[Technical Notice] Blurry Images Caused by Moisture Inside Camera Lens Cover

Symptom
When moisture accumulates inside the camera lens cover, it may affect the quality of live view images and cause the images to appear blurry or hazy.

Solution
To remove moisture inside the lens cover, keep the camera running for at least 5 hours. To speed up the process, you can open the SD card slot cover and turn on the IR LED manually. Here we use two groups of cameras for example. Follow the instructions below:

For GV-ABL / ADR / AVD / EBD / TBL / TDR / TVD / TFD Series, GV-BLFC5800, GV-EBFC5800, GV-FER5702, GV-PTZ5810-IR, GV-SD2322-IR / SD2722-IR / SD3732-IR / SD4825-IR / SD4834-IR
  1. Open the SD card slot cover. Here we use GV-FER5702 for example.

  2. Access the camera’s Web interface, and select Setup > Image.
  3. Find the Smart Illumination section, and select Custom Level or Manual for Control Mode and adjust the Illumination Level to 1000.

  4. Close the SD card slot cover after moisture is completely removed.
For GV-QFER12700 / QSD5730-Indoor / QSD5730-Outdoor / QSD5731-IR
  1. Access the camera’s Web interface and select Image > IR Function.
  2. Select Light On for Day/Night Function and On for IR Light Compensation.

Note:
  1. If the ambient temperature is lower than the normal temperature, it might take longer to remove moisture.
