This document explains how to display videos from GV-1120B, GV-1240B and GV-1480B on TV monitors. There are several ways to perform TV Out functions on GV-Combo B Cards:
  • Using the Digital Matrix function on GV-DVR / NVR
  • Using GV-Multi Quad Card
  • Using GV-Loop Through Card
  • Using third-party PC to TV converters
  • Using the built-in TV out port on the graphics card
Digital Matrix
GeoVision’s free software Digital Matrix allows you to display videos from GV-Combo B Cards on up to 8 monitor displays. Most graphics cards now support dual monitors. To display multiple monitors, additional graphic cards may be required.

You will need to use Windows Display Properties to activate multiple monitors and then configure the Digital Matrix settings on GV-DVR / NVR. Below is an example using Windows XP.
  1. Right-click desktop, click Properties and click the Settings tab. This dialog box appears.

  2. Click the Display list. If you do not see multiple monitors listed, check if your additional monitors are connected with the computer properly.
  3. Select the primary monitor from the list, and select Use This Device as the Primary Monitor.
  4. Select additional monitors from the list, and select Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor for each monitor.
  5. Click Identify. A large number appears on each monitor to help you identify.
  6. Drag and drop the monitor icons to match the physical arrangement of your monitors.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Start the GV-DVR / NVR, click Configure, click Accessories, select Digital Matrix Setting, select monitors from the Display list and select Activate for each monitor. For example, if you install 7 additional monitors, you need to activate Display 1 to Display 7 one by one.
  9. Click Apply. Your additional monitors should now display the channels seen on the primary monitor. See the figure below for example.

For more details on setting the Digital Matrix function, refer to Digital Matrix, Chapter 11, GV-DVR User’s Manual.

GV-Multi Quad Card
Using GV-Multi Quad Card, videos from GV-Combo B Cards can be displayed on up to 5 TV monitors. TV monitor 1 supports up to 16 screen divisions, and TV Monitors 2 to 5 support 1 and 4 screen divisions. It also allows self-defined channel sequence and position changes of divisions on the monitor screen.

Follow the illustration below to connect the GV-Multi Quad Card to the GV-Combo B Card. For further operations on GV-DVR / NVR, see Quad Spot Monitor Controller, Chapter 11, GV-DVR User’s Manual.

After connecting the graphics card to the TV monitors, you will need to set up how you want the monitors to display. To extend the view onto the second monitor, follow steps 1 to 7 under Digital Matrix. For more advanced setup, you may need to use the display management software supplied with the graphic cards.
